Sweet Orange Beef Stir Fry
Updated: Oct 21, 2020
This slightly sweet, slightly tangy beef stir fry is going to become a family dinner favorite in less than 30min.
Confession time: I love stir fry. I'm always on the hunt for a healthier, veggie-loaded, low-sugar version that still satisfies those indulgent taste buds we all know are there.
Plus, if you're cooking for more than two, we all know a classic stir fry is a great way to stretch a meal and budget, generally satisfying 5 to 6 bellies with leftovers still within reach.
The secret? Veggies. You're adding volume and micro-nutrients and no one suspects a thing because all eyes are on the main player--flank steak.

How to make this Sweet Orange Beef stir fry?
There's two steps and two pans. That's it!
All you need to bring this incredible dish together is one small saucepan and one larger skillet. The sauce pan will be used for the quick, homemade teriyaki sauce and the larger skillet will fry up your flank steak and veggies.
So let's get started!
Ingredients
Flank steak: Flank steak is a lean, somewhat tough but flavorful cut of beef that is taken from the abdominal muscles or lower chest of the steer. It is best cooked medium rare and thinly sliced at an angle across the grain of the meat. I purchased mine at Costco, but any flank steak should do.
Orange Bell Pepper: They are an excellent source of vitamin A, vitamin C, and potassium. Bell Peppers also contain a healthy dose of fiber, folate, and iron.
Fun fact: Green Bell Peppers are just unripe red, yellow or orange bell peppers!
Frozen (or fresh) green beans: Makes this dish a piece. of. cake to throw together. I bought mine from Trader Joe's frozen section and they are awesome!
Carrots: A root vegetable often claimed to be the perfect health food. It is crunchy, tasty, and highly nutritious. Carrots are a particularly good source of beta carotene, fiber, vitamin K1 and potassium.
Coconut Aminos: Healthier alternative to soy sauce since it is soy, wheat and gluten-free. Coconut aminos is a salty, savory seasoning sauce made from the fermented sap of coconut palm and sea salt.
